About Karla Shane

 

Mrs. Karla Shane teaches Oklahoma History at OVCA. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Southern Nazarene University in 1995, after which she began teaching in Oklahoma. Prior to her first year teaching at OVCA in 2015, she was her oldest son’s learning coach during his four years at OVCA High School. She and her husband have two adult sons, with the oldest currently pursuing a career in graphic design and the youngest attending college. She also has 2 cats, Brutus and Lorenzo, and 1 dog, Copper. She enjoys spending time with her family at home as well as traveling with them and exploring new locations when possible, including all the interesting places to visit in Oklahoma. Some of her other hobbies include playing the flute, reading books from a variety of genres, watching movies, photography, solving puzzles, and dabbling in art.
