About Ria Huckeby
Ria Huckeby joined OVCA in 2019 as a 2nd grade teacher. In the past, she was a teacher for Ada City Schools in the third grade for 14 years. In addition to those years, she also worked in the Afterschool Programs, English as a Second Language Programs, a substitute, and even a janitor for the school system. In addition to teaching, she has also been a Great Expectations Instructor, teaching other teachers at ECU and UCO. In 2019, she helped to write social studies elementary curriculum for the Chickasaw Nation as well as train teachers to teach it. She graduated from ECU with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education in 1999, and again with a Master's Degree in Elementary Principalship in 2001. She is happily married to my high school sweetheart of 22 years. They enjoy time with their daughters, family, nature walks, and of course, movies and books! Some of her favorite things are bible study and worship, the color blue, the author Stephen King, her cat Michonne, baking, gardening, and of course, reading! She loves teaching, and is so excited to be a part of OVCA!
